Actor Angus Cloud, Best Known for “Euphoria,” Passes Away at 25

On Monday, Angus Cloud, the 25-year-old actor famous for his portrayal of Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in HBO’s “Euphoria,” passed away at his family home in Oakland, California, as confirmed by his publicist, Cait Bailey, according to AP. The cause of his death was not disclosed. In a heartfelt statement, Cloud’s family remembered him as not only a talented artist but also a beloved friend, brother, and son.

The family shared that Angus had recently experienced the loss of his father, which deeply affected him. They find some comfort in knowing that Angus is now reunited with his late father, who meant the world to him. Angus had been open about his struggles with mental health, and his family hopes that his passing will serve as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should seek support instead of battling these challenges in silence.

Before landing his breakthrough role as Fez in “Euphoria,” Angus Cloud had no prior acting experience. His journey to fame began when a casting scout, Eléonore Hendricks, discovered him during a chance encounter on the streets of New York. Despite initial hesitation, Angus met with casting director Jennifer Venditti and series creator Sam Levinson, eventually earning a co-starring role opposite Zendaya for the first two seasons of the series.

Angus was lauded for his compelling portrayal of Fez, which led some to speculate that he and the character were alike in real life. However, Cloud rejected this notion, asserting that he brought his own uniqueness to the role.

Regarding the third season of “Euphoria,” no filming had commenced before Angus’s passing. Series creator Sam Levinson expressed his deep admiration for the talented actor, saying there was no one quite like Angus. Levinson acknowledged that Angus struggled, as many do, with addiction and depression, but his impact on people’s hearts was undeniable. The HBO network and “Euphoria” family extended their sincerest condolences to Angus Cloud’s friends and family during this difficult time.
